How to prevent Excel from starting in Safe Mode?
We have a background process that calls Excel to create report tables. Sometimes, while Excel is running, an abnormal or unintentional server restart occurs. Starting Excel for the first time after restarting brings up a dialog box (paraphrasing here) "Do you want to start Excel in Safe Mode?" (Well no)
The problem is that our background application cannot handle this dialog and acts as if Excel was not starting properly and background jobs were not running as a result.
I can find CL switches to start Excel in safe mode, but I can't find anything that instructs Excel to always start normally without this prompt dialog.
(I don't have access to any other program code, so I can't get it to go through the Yes value if it hits this field.)
Is there any registry hack or is there any other way I can get Excel to run normally every time it calls?

I had this problem, I fixed it with Excel radio buttons. You can find more details here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/291288
Try adding "/ e" when starting Excel, for example:
EXCEL.exe / e "C: \ My Documents \ File.xls"
This should do the trick!
