Specifying the Order of the Start Menu Keyboard Shortcuts

I have created shortcuts for some of my exes in the program menu. For example, I can create shortcuts for a.exe, v.exe and g.exe. By default, it aligns as a, g, v (alphabetically). I want to place my labels in a different order like (v, a, g).

In short, I want to be able to reorder the labels it creates for anything other than alphabetical order.

I am using wshshellobject in vb. I created a dll; through which I created my shortcuts

Assuming you're trying to change the order of your Start Menu shortcuts, I'm not sure if it's possible to do this programmatically (which is a shame - I've activated uninstallers for many applications in Vista / 7 by typing their names and just hitting without looking! ).

Microsoft Raymond Chen posted this on his blog a while ago:

The classic Start menu and All Programs part of Windows XP The Start menu lets you customize the order in which shortcuts appear there. You can use drag and drop to rearrange them or force them to be sorted by title. But why isn't there a programming interface to these actions?

Because power will be used for evil much more than it will be used forever.
