How do I implement an SVN hook to find out the filename of a file, etc.?

I am using Windows XP and TortoiseSVN, and I would like to know the file name, file path, author, and other details of the revision pushed to the repository using the post-commit. Do I need to use a specific language for this, like Python, or is it possible to write even with just a batch file?

Here is a good tutorial on how to create SVN hooks http://wordaligned.org/articles/a-subversion-pre-commit-hook Basically you need to create a post-commit.exe or bat script. It can execute the python code you want to call py:

python myhook.py

Inside script.

Start here

Quoting from this link:

However, Windows uses file extensions to determine if a program is executable, so you will need to provide a program whose base name is the hook name, and whose extension is one of the special extensions Windows recognizes for executable programs, such as .exe for programs and. bat for batch files.
