FCKeditor disable javascript not working

Sorry, I've been using FCKeditor for too long. My gut tells me this how you are trying to get the "body" property.

Have you tried this:

editorInstance.EditorDocument.body.contentEditable='false'; 
editorInstance.EditorDocument.designMode='off';


I also recommend updating the editor to the new CKEDITOR (no F): http://ckeditor.com/
