ASP.NET Response.Redirect Max URL Length

I'm looking to create a simple URL shortening service for our corporate intranet, and I'm curious if anyone knows if there is a maximum length for URLs returned by the ASP.NET Response.Redirect method?

IE - 2083 (for GET - 2048). Other browsers have slightly different limitations. There is no limit in the standard. Most people seem to agree that anything in the range of what IE allows is a functional limit.
