Ezpublish For Practical Ecommerce?

I currently use ezpublish as a base and CMS when my web projects are PHP based and I must say that I am used to it due to its flexibility for most scenarios.

However, I have had to build e-commerce sites from time to time, and ezpublish includes a web store that caters to the e-commerce needs of your setup and of course with all the tools you need to expand if you need to.

Is it worth and optimally using an embedded online store for an e-commerce solution, or do I need to go with a complete e-commerce solution like Magento that has had a significant impact on this sector?

Magento is great. It overwhelms all the features you would normally pay for a shopping cart in your shopping cart (or spend forever on yourself). Basically everything you don't have in a basic setup that you can get from the community.

But this is extremely difficult. Expect a long time to set up your store as the default setup is not ready to go. Expect to spend time adding a template, which will take much longer than you expect. Expect to stretch your PHP skills in ways that you cannot expect.



As a rule, Magento is not a "fast" option, but a "simple" one, just good. If none of this dissuades you, this is a great option :)

Some of them chose to use both solutions linked to each other (www.ezgento.org). This can be achieved mainly through the very open architecture of eZ Publish. I don't have enough understanding on the Magento side, so I can't tell if it's easy to "pluggable".

I know that some members of the ez Publish Community are building large-scale e-shops with eZ Publish, either as a pure content management tool serving content and only content for specialized e-commerce tools, or as an integrated solution, then relying on an embedded e-shop module.
