Mirroring functions in SQL Express via replication?

We have 2 SQL Express servers (2005). As you probably know, database mirroring is not included in the Express editions, but replication is. Is it possible to enable replication between both servers in order to have some sort of mirror-like functionality ?! What are the possible disadvantages, if at all possible?

You will not be able to build what you want to achieve using only the express edition of SQL Server

I can confirm that SQL Server Express can only work as a subscriber and not a publisher.

I don't think SQL Express can be a replication provider, only a subscriber.
