How can I run sql from .net application against sqlserver and get output like in SQL Management Studio?
I would like my application to run sql files and get the output as if sql were run from SQL Management Studio with the results to text. i.e. nicely formatted recordsets, printed messages, affected lines, errors, running multiple batches separated by GO operations, etc. Any suggestions how to do this without building it from scratch on top of a regular SQL connection?
I am using C # .NET

You don't say what language your application is written in, but if you are using .Net you can get some help from the source code for QueryExPlus , a lightweight SSSS alternative to OSS.
