JQuery inline text scroll / rotate / carousel effect

I am trying to create an animation with JQuery that scrolls 1 word in a sentence. For instance,

I am a nice sententce of text with a MAGIC word in it
                                     OTHER
                                     HIDDEN
                                     WORDS

After a second or so, MAGIC will move up and OTHER will scroll. I've tried playing with several carousel plugins, but I can't seem to get the effect to work.

Some seem to have so many nested divs that they refuse to display inline, others have problems when one word is longer than the other.

Does anyone know of a plugin that could make this possible? Is it possible?

After a bit more experimentation, it seems that jCarousel Lite is the answer.

However, this means that 3 elements have to be placed: text before, scroll and text. Not perfect, but it works!
