Porting Dependencies to Maven

I am working on 3 maven projects. These are all separate projects, but they have a common basic structure. Let's call structure A and its dependencies B and C.

There is a library L that A depends on. Any package that uses A must also use L, and will need to use the same version of L as A. For this reason I would like to specify L in pom and only in pom. I don't want to go and edit the B and C poms every time I update L.

Is there a way to do this? There is no parent pom that separates A, B, and C.

If B and C also use the L library directly, you must define that in the B and C pom. Since it has a direct dependency, it should be clear when looking in the POM file.

The second option is if library L is shared between projects A, B and C, then you must define a parent pom.
