Create professional graphs in Windows

On Windows, I am considering making professional graphs using any major programming language (C #, VB.Net, Java, PERL, etc.). The best free charts I've found so far are Microsoft Chart Controls for .NET . What other graph controls / modules do you suggest?

Note: Added free to requirements.

GLE is a scripting language for creating professional-quality graphs and charts for publication. It uses LaTeX for typing, so incorporating equations into your graphs is quick and they look great. Christopher Bishop used GLE for all of the charts in his Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning tutorial, and let me tell you, they looked great. Open source to download!

First, you write the GLE script and tell it to accept a text file as input to the graph. Then you can generate the dataset in whatever language you want, export as a text file and call the GLE script to generate the graph.

More details from the website :

GLE (Graphics Layout Engine) is a graphical scripting language for creating print quality graphs, graphs, charts, and slides. GLE supports various types of plots (graph functions, histograms, histograms, scatterplots, contour lines, color maps, surface plots, ...) ... GLE output formats include EPS, PS, PDF, JPEG and PNG.

Have you seen the Zedgraph ? It's LGPL, but quite extensive.

There are dozens and dozens of commercial components for charting. Personally, I love DevExpress tools.

XtraCharts is really good, well documented and relatively affordable.
