Accessing Wordpress Database in Mobile Apps
I am new to Wordpress and I want to create an interface to access my wordpress hosted database in my mobile apps, especially iPhone and Android.
Since they don't have direct access to SQL databases and will require server side routines to accomplish this task, what would be the best way for me to write these procedure / web service calls?
Are there Wordpress plugins for this? If not, what language should I use - php or something else?
I need some lead.

Wordpress supports the standard XML-RPC interface, so applications can interact with WP over the Internet, without having to access the WP database. http://codex.wordpress.org/XML-RPC_Support
If you choose to embed your applications using XML-RPC, your entire communication will be reduced to simple HTTP calls.
To get started, I suggest checking out the source code of an iPhone Wordpress app that uses XML-RPC http://iphone.wordpress.org/

I would suggest creating a webapp (iPhone style) for a phone app and call everything with AJAX in PHP (because of Wordpress running PHP) to validate and execute requests. iPhone webapps dev link I didn't find a solid tutorial / resource for developing BlackBerry web applications (please post if you find one)
