Reading Java applet memory in browser

I am using C # for programming and using ReadProcessMemory to read the memory of other processes running on the system. However, I'm not sure how to read the memory of a java applet running inside a browser? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks.

Since 6u10 by default Java PlugIn runs outside of browser (s). This process should be easily identified as a Java executable with PlugIn classes added to the bootstrap classpath.

If the JVM is running as part of the browser process, I suspect you won't be able to do this easily. The closest you can get is measuring your browser's memory consumption.

However, you could measure the memory consumption of a standalone viewer applet during your applet launch, and then perhaps get the applet's memory consumption from that.
