Do you have an example of your code? How do you preload and what type of file do you preload? I assume swf, but you never know. AS2 or AS3?



In AS3, you probably need to listen for an error event dispatched by whatever method you use to preload, and then handle that error to try again. You will probably need some type of retry counter to avoid getting stuck in a loop trying to load a file that doesn't exist.

Solution 1:
Add event listeners for errors on the bootloader. Find errors are IOError and SecutiryError.



Solution 2:
Install Tamper data in Firefox and look at the requests to try and figure out why this is happening.

Try using the loadClip method to preload your movie clip. loadClip has error handling that will allow you to diagnose what's going on.
