Front Testing - Selenium RC Tools

I am wondering what tools you use for front-end testing ...

I am currently using Selenium RC as my interface testing tool. I am very happy with the result as I was able to integrate it with the ms build process etc. The problem with Selenium benchmarks is that they are not always reliable, especially if you are browsing something other than Firefox.

I'm looking for open source alternatives (testing tools in the frontend)?

Together with selenium, we also use twill . However, it is because of its speed and it is only used for "quick and quick" tests, I am afraid that not everything is as good as selenium out there.

On the other hand, I find Selenium quite reliable, even in other browsers - it's just hard to build tests in a way that thinks about race conditions, etc.

I would recommend TestPlan , which can use Selenium as a backend or HTMLUnit. It also allows you to perform many other tests. It also works around several of the issues that Selenium has, making it a little easier for the user than Selenium directly.

In my experience, Selenium works best of all I've tried. Even now I am working with Firefox 6 and the Selenium IDE works fine with it.
