Serial Port Monitor Application for Windows CE?
I have an application on a Windows CE device that is trying to receive data over a serial port. It doesn't work and now I am looking for some simple app to run on this device that will allow me to check if there is any data. Is there something like HyperTerminal that allows me to control the serial port on mobile devices?
The best might be an application where the source code is available, so I can customize it to the specific device I would like to run it on (some commonly used system libraries are not available).

In Windows CE, you exchange the serial port in much the same way as in classic Win32. The only difference is that I / O overlap is not supported.
So, I think it would be easy to adapt the existing C ++ library to your needs. There are many articles available in the Code Project . This is one example article.

Try to check this one . If I'm not mistaken, I used this to test the functionality of the COM ports (I was too lazy to load it again and check if this is exactly the version I was using ...).
It is a basic application that sends and receives data on a selected COM port. Basic, but you can expand the functionality.

When I was doing a lot of serial number based mobile phone work, I found ZTerm for PPC to be an invaluable tool. It supports direct serial connection, so you can use it to talk to serial ports, modems, etc. Also supports socket based sockets, so you can use it as telnet to communicate with remote systems.
