ViewState problem in asp.net Control Wizard

Question

We are using an ASP.NET (2.0) control where, at each step of the wizard, the user fills in several fields.

We have found that sometimes, for some odd reason, the value of the fields in previously filled steps is lost when the "postback" is to another step.

This problem occurs randomly; sometimes some of the field values are retained and others are lost.

EnableViewState is true for the Page control and all controls.

What are we missing?

This kind of thing happens when using the refresh panel. In this case, u need to update the update panel.
