Ajaxcontroltoolkit VS. JQuery
A few days ago, I asked a question about how to set up the ajaxcontroltoolkit library's calendar extender and got an answer where I said I should disable the control kit for jQuery. I have to say that I have heard very little mention of jQuery, and more importantly, I saw it as a requirement to increase the number of job openings in the web development field.
I love ajaxcontroltoolkit with its simplicity and Visual Studio integration. Does anyone have an opinion on two of them? I would love to hear from developers with experience with these ajax solutions.

Now that MS has launched budget allocation for jquery improvements (as of March 16, 2010) ...
As part of the Microsoft open source engagement community, Vice President of Corporate Affairs Scott Guthrie today announced that Microsoft is investing resources in contributing to the development of the JavaScript jQuery library to help improve the development process for standards-based web applications. Microsoft will also be better interoperability between ASP.NET and jQuery JavaScript Library, improving ASP.NET, so .NET developers can better integrate jQuery capabilities. In addition, Microsoft will actively promote and distribute versions of the jQuery JavaScript Library by packaging it with popular products such as Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and ASP.NET MVC 2. As a first step, Microsoft will contribute to templating the jQuery JavaScript engine. to simplify the Web application.
... I think this is the way to work with the client side UI when working with .NET based web applications.

AjaxControlToolKit is not really acceptable, as is anything related to web forms (I know it's tricky here, but I don't like wasting time using a framework).
It's easy for beginners to do basic things, but when you want to do certain things, you block the framework, and when you fight against the framework, I think it's time to change it.
Example: you want to close the modal popup by clicking on the gray background ... have fun.
So jquery :) Or prototype or whatever
