.NET equivalent to MappedBytesBuffer?

I am considering porting an application from Java to .NET. This application makes extensive use of the NIO package, which does not exist entirely in .NET.

One important difference that is difficult to replicate on .NET is the MappedBytesBuffer because it is used to access isolated portions of a file.

Can anyone help me find an alternative to feature replication? Thank you very much.

If you can wait until .net 4.0 this might be helpful: What's new in BCL in .net 4.0

Alternatively, you can flip your own wrapper for Win32 apis CreateFileMapping and MapViewOfFile
