What does "Error for the Marshal's Argumentation" mean? Org.jboss.cache.CacheException?

I am getting the following exception:

org.jboss.cache.CacheException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Rejecting marshal argument

We are using JBoss distributed cache for our web application (on Tomcat)

I have a strong feeling that this is due to a bad configuration, but I'm not sure.

Edit (Correction): We are using version 3.0.0.GA of Jboss cache (core)

This was caused by a swallowed exception ( NotSerializableException

) that was caught and not logged and was not re-thrown by our code, the JBoss exception is generic and not necessarily related
