A recommendation for a tool / frame that follows the nude object pattern?
I'm looking for a tool / framework that follows the nude object pattern and is written in Java. I am aware of tools like JMatter, Naked Objects, and Domain Object Explorer. This is not exactly what I'm looking for.
Open source would be great, but not required. My intention is to use this model driven software development tool / framework to do the modeling part. Ideally, such a tool / framework would provide the ability to use JPA to store / load objects.
I would like to clarify a little more why the above tools are not exactly what I am looking for, although they implement the bare object pattern and thus save a lot of work on developing a specific user interface: When using a modeling tool for model-based software development I find it very useful when the tool shows relationships between objects in a graphical way (object graph), showing relationships on more than one level. However, I don’t need (and don’t want) the freedom to change the layout of a graph object in many different ways, unlike what the UML tools allow. As far as I know, none of the above tools are capable of displaying an object graph. Moreover, I would even like to be able to define different representations on an object graph, where each view defines a subset of the object types and relationships that should be visible in that view.
Hopefully this clears up more than it confuses.

Should there be Java?
At Naked Objects for.NET (see www.nakedobjects.net), we are currently working on a brand new option called Naked Objects MVC that combines Naked Objects with ASP.NET MVC. This gives you a 100% generic HTML interface that you can customize as much as you want when you're ready to do it. We are a few weeks away from the beta release.

The DnD observer from Naked Objects does - through the tree viewer on the left side of the form - allows you to view the object graph.
Rob Matthews also worked very hard on this viewer to make it more extensible for other views. We hope to release a new release in May (probably called 4.1).
For my part, I've been working on a new HTML viewer using Wicket. Similar to the Richard.NET equivalent, this will also support customization, either cosmetically using CSS, or essentially by writing new Wicket components (for rendering an object, a collection of objects, a collection of objects, or whatever you have). The code is currently at sourceforge.net/projects/wicketobjects.
But in your question, you said what you really want is a tool to help you do the modeling part, not so much the deployment. In this case, NO will allow you to develop your pojos and then you can start deploying with custom view and save layers if you like. There it was discussed in my book (chapter 13-15).

Can you elaborate on how you want your views to be displayed. Are there specific relationships that you want to show in this way, or are they all?
As Dan said, I am currently working on a DND viewer and would be interested in providing other views to test the design flexibility or enable it if they are common.
