IIS7 301 redirect from url list

Recent changes make me add a bunch of 301 redirects. It seems that IIS7 is my better choice over in-file redirection.

I found how to add them 1 to 1, but it requires the page / folder to exist (which most does not exist (and creating them seems to defeat the redirect point)) and does not work with dynamic urls, I also fail can go to every page and add page level redirects because some old pages are in php which are no longer supported on new server. There are also no obvious changes to the changes, so each must be done by itself.

call forwarding patterns

  • page.htm → / page /
  • / folder / folder / -> /folder/folder.cfm
  • / folder / folder / -> / folder /
  • /page.php?id=1 -> page.htm

Edit: I wrote all the steps here

IIS7 rewrite module allows you to specify rewrite and redirect rules. It is provided by Microsoft, IIS7 and above free feature.

If you have an older version of Windows and IIS installed, you can use a third party rewriter. IIRF is easy and free.

Also, I don't know what you mean by "IIS7 is my best choice". As you know, you cannot choose your version of IIS regardless of your Windows version. If you have Windows Server 2008, you get IIS7. Windows Server 2008 R2, then IIS7.5. If you have Windows Server 2003, then IIS6. etc.
