Integration of Asp.Net site and Workflow Foundation

I am creating a web application that has some kind of handling for user requests. A user submits a request for something, he goes through several steps and channels, and his status changes through certain predefined statuses , in the organization before being approved or rejected. During processing, the ball may return to the user's court for some changes or update some information.

The customer wants a custom workflow to control the processing. Please help me decide how I can integrate it with the application. Should I start a new instance of the workflow whenever a new request comes in, return the next state and possible actions that the processing person can take and close the workflow?

Or would some other approach be better?

You will definitely want to create a new instance of the workflow for every custom request. It is this workflow that controls the life of your user requests.

Take a look at C. Scott Allen 's Ode To Code Order Workflow for a complete working example website that processes "orders" through a state machine workflow. The workflow code is nicely separated from the web tier.
