How to set color of missing / loaded tiles in Google Maps Javascript API?

I made this little Cocoa app with WebView that displays Google Maps in full screen. Everything is nice and dandy, but the tiles that are still loading are greyish, which are very bright, which is a pain on large displays. Is there a way to make them black?
