Outlook AppointmentItem Write Event - how many times does it run

I need to do some activity when a sessionitem (or a meeting in particular) is saved.

What I want is when the user has filled in the information and clicks Submit, Outlook does it and my code is executed once.

However, what I find is that the Write event occurs multiple times - at least twice, and sometimes more (like in updates).

If this is a problem for me, it is that I have an object that needs to be updated before serializing it, and I don't want to do the update and serialization multiple times.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and is there a better way to do this for use than assignitem.write?

It sounds like you want it to capture the submit event in the Appointment or create a custom level on the element that flag if it has been handled and then check it on every save.

       Outlook.ItemEvents_Event _apptEvents = (Outlook.ItemEvents_Event)ai;
    _apptEvents.Send += new Outlook.ItemEvents_SendEventHandler(_itemClass_ItemEvents_Event_Send);
