Providing an Edit Button in Oracle Portal 10.1.4 in the Custom Search Portlet
I am using Oracle Portal 10.1.4 and I have a custom search port that does a canned search efficiently that contains content that matches a specific category. I want administrators to be able to click the Edit button next to a piece of content that appears in the list of results for the custom custom search portlet. (This way, every piece of content that comes back from a canned search has an edit link next to it that administrators can add).
Is there a way to do this WITHOUT having to write a custom PL / SQL portlet (to replace the custom search portlet)?
As far as I know, it is not possible to manipulate the output of a standard custom search portlet, and writing your own search portlet in PL / SQL or Java would be the right way to go. The only other method I can think of is to intercept the portlet output and augment it somehow, or use javascript to manipulate the DOM to add the necessary edit links.
