Using string, blob or clob for thread body in doctrine?

Question

what datatype (string, blob or clob) should I use for my thread body when using doctrine?

and how long should it be?

I read the documentation but didn't quite understand the differences between the two.

it seems that all three can store an unlimited number of characters.

can someone explain

and how can I store unlimited characters in a string? what should i set as length?

1) What is a "stream"?

2) Use text

no length up to 65536 characters, which is probably enough for most purposes.

I would prefer blob as datatype to store unlimited text with all richtext formatting stuff.
