What's the most popular way to implement config settings like about: config in Firefox?
I would like to implement / use an existing cross platform configuration tool like about:config
in Firefox. This was supposed to work on Windows and Mac. Are there libraries or design patterns out there that people recommend?
Also, if I were to use the library, it would be "free as in beer" and could not be GPL licensed. The apache license will be fine.
The Windows side uses C ++ / MFC and the Mac side uses Objective-C. The config file must be read on both platforms, but they don't need to use the same library.

- Python has a library. ( Config Parser )
- C ++ is probably quite a lot, but this is the best hit on google. ( RudeConfig )
- Java has ini4j
- .NET has nini
