Custom Sharepoint list with custom new forms that cannot be added to folders

I have a custom list that has custom changes and new forms that the user needed.

Then I tried to add a new item to the folder (folders have year text like 2010) and when I click Save in a custom new form it saves correctly but always in the root list.

I am wondering if there is a fix or work for this as it is very annoying.

Alternatively, can someone recommend a way to implement a field that will automatically calculate + 1 year from the creation date, which might be a possible alternative, however it should take the following into account.

If the current year runs from October to September.

Thanks for any help that made me go crazy trying to find a solution.

There is no way to help without knowing what you based the userform on, but for a new form, the save folder is usually displayed in the query string.

The form is a basic custom list of forms that I just modified to remove fields that are not required or only need to be read.

The original form worked great and allowed items to be added to the list subfolders.

The new one has no extra code and uses the standard sharepoint DataFormWebPart to create a custom list form, and so I don't have any end of code to insert the item, etc., although I might have to resort to that ... will I

You must be careful when modifying the standard shapes. I recommend that you go back to a copy of the standard form and make sure it saves it correctly. Remove "unnecessary" fields until they stop working.

Sometimes with a setup like this, you need to use css rather than server side changes to change the form so that the functionality stays in place after the component is hidden.

It is definitely not a problem with deleting fields, when I created a new copy of the original and then changed it to a custom field that was saved and tried to add the item.

He hit right at the root.

I tried the original form and saved it in the appropriate folder.

Ok, just working what I have to do this at the moment (I am currently discussing with MS).

http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepointdesigner/archive/2007/06/13/using-javascript-to-manipulate-a-list-form-field.aspx

I used the getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle (tagName, identifier, title) method

This returned the item I was after and then I basically went to the dom node line and removed it.

I hope to get a better method, but at least it’s work for now.
