How do you overlay text on images / videos?

We need to place text above objects in the web page like this: http://www.queness.com/resources/html/slideshow/jquery-slideshow.html

The text "bar" should be displayed over images and videos. For videos, we use the html5media library ( http://code.google.com/p/html5media/ ), which renders the tag <video>

for those browsers that support it, or Flowplayer for others.

How do you do this with jQuery? Is video possible? There are examples, but none of them allow text to be on top of objects <video>

or Flowplayer. Thanks.
