Visual Studio Stop Automatic Updates by References

I am referencing the dll (ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll) for my visual studio project from my bin folder, the version I want to use is 0.5.0.0. However, when I run the project, the dll is replaced with the more recent 0.85.4.369, which is incompatible with some of the libraries I have.

How do I stop Visual Studio from automatically updating a link?

This is only true for websites - look in the bin folder of your project and check if the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.refresh file is there. Remove it and VS won't look for new build versions when building a site.

There is no automatic update. The later version should be in the GAC.
