How to style non-widget elements like jQuery widgets

I would like to apply a similar style to elements like textboxes, checkboxes, etc. that my jQuery UI pref-fab theme applies to jQuery UI widgets. Is there a solid way to do this, or is it a manual mixing and matching process by picking style classes from the theme?

The CSS file in the UI theme is well commented. For a basic style, take a look at .ui-widget

and .ui-state classes

. For checkboxes, check with Firebug how jQuery widget buttons see. For text fields, check the autocomplete widget style. It's pretty much a mix and match where you copy classes from a CSS theme.

you can always make your own ui component, the problem is you have to be very good at CSS, Javascript for this

you can create your widget and style it and then encapsulate it for reuse,
