SqlDataAdapter.Update not working

I'm using SqlDataAdapter.Update (DataTable) to dump the table into the database, but the SqlDataAdapter ignores my InsertCommand to write one of its own, which only sends the primary key and all rows that can be null if they so choose. How can I make myself behave?

I am going through the code before and after calling Update (). This used to be my InsertCommand. After that, it's the SqlDataAdapter.

Edit: I particularly don't feel like posting code samples because I can take the string I have and write my own SqlCommand object that works quite easily. I'm more interested in the reasons why Update would decide that the InsertCommand I'm passing in isn't good enough for me to dig into my own code - it was all supposed to be a pastime.

Right after digging around a lot, I found out that I needed to call EndEdit on my rows when I was done with them, so the changes I made were not discarded by the DataTable. As I said, I didn’t do anything other than calling SqlDataAdapter.Update (DataTable).
