How do I set the download location for a link?

I want to create a link where when I click on it, it downloads the file to a specific location (Desktop) on the user's computer (it basically opens the Save Link As ... dialog with Desktop as default location).

Is this even possible? Any suggestions on how to do this?

This is a custom setting and you cannot force the user to download the file to a specific directory. The best you can do is link to the file and let the user choose the correct location to save the file.
