How can I get RSS link to auto open in iTunes / WinAmp / etc

I have custom podcasts, each with its own RSS feed. Is there a way to automatically open iTunes when an RSS feed link is clicked?

I've seen this before, but the podcast has always been submitted by Apple and approved. This is not practical for hundreds of custom podcasts.

I tried link like itunes://http://site.com/blah

but it didn't work.

Found the answer:

There are two protocols: pcast://

and itpc://

(the second can mean "iTunes PC"). Feedburner uses the first one, so this is what I'm going to use.



Update: Firefox does not support pcast

(WTF Mozilla?). itpc

works in all browsers you tested.
