Loading a dynamic GWT module

Is there a mechanism to dynamically load a GWT module?

The idea is to create a GWT-based pluggable system: a main GWT module that dynamically loads another GWT module and a bus communication system to allow communication through the loaded modules.

Any help?

Possible duplicate web application using OSGi and GWT

Also see the information in this section of the GWT Users Forum - http://groups.google.com/group/google-web-toolkit/msg/4a3f912cb89a7256

To summarize, possible, but not recommended. Your requirement is orthogonal to the GWT philosophy and architecture. If you need to, the GWT Exporter project is a useful starting point for communication between modules.

Splitting code successfully handles the split load issue, but does not address the split compilation issue.

Split-compilation modular compatibility will never be the recommended default, but the GWT team should look into this in the future.

If we are talking about a plug-in based architecture, the developer of the various plug-ins must develop their own user interface and compile and provide the infrastructure. Framework should load them dynamically.

I'm still looking for a way to do it (do it better).

You can use code splitting to load code dynamically whenever you want.

Have a look at http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/DevGuideCodeSplitting.html
