Link objects as fields in a UML diagram

I am trying to create a diagram for a project document. I created a class diagram in VS. At the moment it is just a bunch of unrelated boxes since there is no inheritance whatsoever. It looks like it would be more helpful if I could show how objects interact through properties and parameters.

As an example, a class Boy

has a method Kiss

that takes an object Girl

. How can I show what Boy

u are Girl

interacting by connecting this in a diagram?

Is there a notation for the UML? Or is there another type of chart that shows this? Can I make VS for this connection for me in some way? Or is this a stupid / useless idea?

It just doesn't look like a correct diagram if there are no lines in it :)

Dependencies other than inheritance are usually generated for references (association instances). There are two types of associations: composition and aggregation. If your Girl object is going to be a member of your class Boy

, you must give VS a change to detect this association.

Maybe this helps UML-Class-Diagram
