Automated presentation development with interactivity

I'm trying to figure out the right tool, language, software package, or other to automatically design presentations where the presentation is interactive.

The presentation will consist of images with titles and some descriptive text. Most of the time there will be 35-70 images. I would like to show each image on a separate page, slide, tab, etc. (The correct terminology is solution dependent, I suppose.)

The images will change, but the titles will remain the same, and the description of each image will be slightly modified.

After combining the presentation, I would like the user to be able to twist and write on the electronic image in the form of a wax crayon (I previously worked in a darkroom and we worked with wax crayons on negatives all the time and would like to have this flexibility). Also, I would like users to be able to add comments like Adobe PDF Professional does for example. insert bubble comments, etc.

Most importantly, I would like to be able to do this in an automated way. We're using PowerPoint right now, but the amount of time it takes to place an image on a slide in PowerPoint, resize it, and then adjust the text is killing us. Also, as the images change, it takes a long time to go back and update them. Therefore, we would like something a little faster to update images and get feedback from our few users. It doesn't have to be a web-based solution, but it can be launched through a browser.

Sorry for taking such a long time and thanks for any ideas and feedback, especially if there is an existing solution for a software package, a language that can be used, or another approach to get it done.

Two of the most popular these days are Adobe Captivate and Presentation Maker . For service instead of product, you can check services like http://voicethread.com .

I do not know of a single product that fully meets your requirements.

But for similar results, I use two different presentation design tools and another one for drawing on presentation.

If I just want to make a presentation from pictures and texts, and I want to automate its creation, I use irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ with its great feature for automatic slideshows. I put all the images together, annotate them (I use either their filenames or, if missing, with EXIF and comment fields) and create a slideshow that can be compiled into an .exe file.

If I want a more thoughtful presentation. Having full annotation capabilities, I use Wink http://www.debugmode.com/wink/

To paint over the screen during a presentation, I use a very old bitmap drawing program called PC-Draw, which allows a hotkey to grab the screen as a bitmap and start painting over it, and another hotkey to return to the original screen without changing any running programs at all. I haven't found it anywhere on the internet. However, I found similar programs to just google swift.

All three tools are free and easy (and even fun) to use.
