How can I add DB 655 to SQL 2005 instance 612?

I am trying to connect my database to a server that is running SQL2005 and I came across an error that says my DB is version 655 which is not supported on system 612. Is there a way to change my DB to get to the application or find out what is causing the structural changes that are preventing me from connecting my db?

Decision

If you right click on the database you want to update and go to scripting. Then you can generate a copy of your database for the target version and find out the error list form, which tables have problems and what those problems are. After you have changed your DB, you can use the script on the target machine. Don't forget to choose to add indexes and data to your script.

I don't know why no one has written this anywhere, but for those suffering there, I recommend this as your first option. This worked great for me.

This sounds like a version check to me on the SQL server to make sure you are not using a new DB file with an old (unloaded) DB and mess it up in the process.

2 Options:

1) Fix the database (bring it to the latest fix level)

2) Attach your DB to the DB with the required patch level, export / backup, move the backup to the offending server and import / restore it again.
