Releasing WinForm Updates
I would like to release some updates for the WinForm program, but as of today I just released a completely new compiler. People need to uninstall the old version and install the new version.
EDIT: I am using the InstalWizard autogenerator. It saves my strucutre file and puts [PrimaryProgramOutput] in a specific directory. I forgot what it's called.
I'm sure there is a way around this, but I don't know what he named. As you might guess, looking for "updates", "new version", "install" and other obvious things I've tried, have generated a huge amount of irrelevant results. > _ & L;
I suspect this process has a specific name that should point me in the right direction, but unless it links to a tutorial or something.

I can see from the tags you are using C #. Visual Studio can create setup projects for such tasks. Installation projects also contain a RemovePreviousVersion property, which will remove the previous version if the correct version of your installation is correct and the application GUID remains the same.

ClickOnce deployment is a great solution most of the time ...
You can deploy it to the web, and when your users run the app, it will check for updates and automatically update the app if there is a new version.
It can also be configured not to automatically update, but only to notify the user when a new version is available and let the user control the update process.
