What is the best open source e-commerce php to manually import $ 5 million daily?
I am going to develop a B2B e-commerce site that contains 5 million products and all products will be updated daily from the distributor. I am confused which open source should I be using. I tried magento but it was very slow to import. I am willing to spend money on a highly customizable server.

I don't have a definite answer for you as I find myself in a similar situation, but I don't use Magento.
It's even expensive when it's free. It's slow and bloated, when set up, updates are nearly impossible. The API is notoriously slow. Plus, if you don't want to start a shopping club, there is little chance of you benefiting from the Enterprise version either.
I would look at Veyton or OXID right now. Veyton is a brand new store system, quite extensible and fun to work with. OXID is one of the newer ecommerce players, although they don't seem to push as hard as Magento.
Last but not least - let me assure you - there is nothing wrong with using osCommerce. We have a plug in the house that has a lot of functionality (like all-around, templates, CRM sync, etc.) and it works really well for us. I haven't checked out new releases lately, but they've come a long way. :)

Magento's default import tool (DataFlow) is quite slow. For 5 million products, I would rather recommend a dedicated optimized importer specific to your data format and working at a low level (resource model level). You can also try http://www.unirgy.com/products/urapidflow/ and discuss with the author some ways to optimize it. However, typically only a small subset of such product imports are actually changed - the distributor are you marking the lines that were actually updated? By filtering them, you can speed up the process significantly.
