Including pyd directly in setup.py file

I have a complex build process for building multiple python extension modules (.pyd). I want to include them in my setup.py for use with distutils. The distutils page details how to add extension modules from source, but I'd like to just package those precompiled .pyd's. What's the best practice for this?

In the end, I would also like to freeze everything in the executable using py2exe. Will I be able to do this if I specify .pyd directly?

You can add extension name to 'includes'

options={
    'py2exe':{'includes':['yourextensionname_without_pyd']}
}

Here is a list of options from py2exe website
