Modeling nosql: howto (digg as an example)?

I read that Digg is now using CassandraDB. Can you help me understand how a digg-like model can be structured efficiently?

If you're trying to quickly understand the major tradeoffs associated with NoSQL systems, check out this blog post I wrote: Visual Guide to NoSQL Systems . Basically, you should choose two of the following properties for your system: continuity, consistency, availability, or partition validity.
