IPhone 3rd Party Controls?

I was wondering if there are any third party controls for use with the iPhone that are available, even better if used in the Interface Builder. From what I can gather, the answer is no.

I come from a Microsoft .NET background where of course there are many controls available from third parties. I am curious if this is a common fact of the Mac ecosystem i.e. There are no third party controls for sale or just iPhone or if I just missed finding them.

I think this is a requirement case. The iPhone has all the controls you need for an average app.

I think those who wrote third-party controls would rather keep them to themselves, as that sets their app apart from the rest (which is important to do in the App Store).

Subclassing UIControl

and writing your own is not difficult. I did this with my rating that I recently released on Github: http://github.com/jasarien/JSFavStarControl

There is also the Three20 project , which contains many UI classes (although this is not that many for individual controls).

In addition, there are others offering custom controls for sale. Most of them can be reproduced with little effort; however, some people simply take the easiest route. For example, check: Dr. Click "Store Part" .

// Note: I am not affiliated in any way with "Dr. Touch" and do not endorse him or his price.
