Running VSTS 2010 alongside VSTS 2008

Possible duplicate:
Will installing Visual Studio 2010 alongside VS2008 cause problems?

I am planning to install VSTS 2010 Beta 1 on my development workstation and I do not know if my VSTS 2008 will continue to work.

Has anyone tried this?

thanks!

Not sure about this particular situation, but from years of experience in the past, it seems like people are complaining about installing beta versions with other things.

It is very likely that the release versions of the two Visual Studios will coexist happily.

It's just that the beta is not meant to be bulletproof. They are intended for use in sandboxes. If you don't have the luxury of other machines, could you create a separate partition or virtual machine to install the beta?

You really don't want to mess up your development workstation and should reinstall everything.

Uh-huh. Works for me. Your mileage may vary.

Many people have installed VSTS 2010 side by side with VSTS 2008. I am one of them.

There is always a risk that something will go wrong, and then don't blame Microsoft. If you are writing any production code on your workstation, I would recommend installing it in a virtual machine, especially when it's so easy these days.
