Drag and drop issues in TinyMCE

I'm trying to allow users to visually navigate around the component placeholders inside the TinyMCE editor, however I can only get the drag and drop to work from the div in Internet Explorer. Even dragging and dropping plain text around seems awkward in Firefox and Chrome.

Any way to do it somehow? I've tried looking for a plugin or whatever, but no luck so far.
