Strange CSS problem with absolutely positioned elements

Question

In firefox, safari, ie8, the menu system on my site works fine.

However, in IE7, link elements just disappear! I tried a lot of things to see where they could run, but they just disappeared!

This site looks like it might be something, except there are no posters in my header section!

Now, I'm usually good with CSS and can get out of most IE errors, but this one confuses me a little.

I tried using IE8 developer tools too, but couldn't fix it.

Any ideas?

Note . I understand that this site violates several usability rules (checkbox for one), but I did not design it and did not really say :(

What happens in IE7 if you try to set position: fixed instead of position: absolute?

Problem

#header ul li {text-indent: -9999px}

I can't tell you why other browsers are handling it, but I've tested it and I know this is the problem.
