How do I draw rough diagrams in R?
If you mean an exact copy of the sample graph from the link you provided ... well, let's say you have very little chance of success ...

I haven't done a diagram in R yet - I prefer the app Dia
available on Linux platforms (and there are ports for macOS and Windows). Murrell's article focuses on low-level graphics capabilities, so it's very flexible, but on the other hand, a little time consuming ... I'm sure the learning process will pay off in the long run, but I usually need something fast, so I use Dia
