What tools are available to collaborate with a small number of people?

I am collaborating with someone on a project and am currently using Skype to collaborate. I love it because we can call to say something that is hard to say by typing. We can share our screens so we can help with coding. And we can use text chat to copy-paste code between ourselves. We also use Subversion for version control.

I just wanted to know what other people used to collaborate with others so I could see what to use there.

Thanks!

By the way, google docs help here too! And come at a great price - for free! Their tools, comparable to Word, Excel, are free and readable for collaboration.

You also need a problem tracker. I prefer Redmine , which also includes many other project management features.

For service-oriented businesses like programming, you can benefit from collaboration from a well-rounded application that allows you to manage multiple aspects of your work.

I'm not sure what you are using outside of Skype right now, but I am guessing that you care about other aspects of your business in one way or another, most likely with email or a little CRM. If you want to help speed up your workflow and save some time, WORKetc might be worth checking out. It integrates CRM with PM and Billing, but also provides collaboration with all of these. Basically, under one application, you manage all the clients, their projects and you can list them either through your own system or by integrating merchants like Paypal. Since WORKetc is central to managing everything, you don't have to jump between the app list to find specific information, and this can be especially useful when interacting with others (which you can do for free along the way).
