Fast and rewind music in XBMC

When I listened to podcast Stack Overflow # 54 in XBMC on my XBOX, I wanted to slip away a little and hear again.

To my chagrin, the search controls, as in the video app, didn't work. Then I tried to use the search buttons in the music OSD. No success. Then I tried to go to render mode and use the search controls (like video). Nope. As a last resort, I tried the web interface, but that didn't work either.

The XBMC forum has been a mess on this topic. There were so many duplicate posts that I couldn't find any useful information other than checking the Keymappings.txt and Keymappings.xml files. It all looks good.

I am using XBMC 9.04r19856 (T3CH_20090521). If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated!

Found a solution.

It turns out this is not a programming problem. The problem is that I was streaming over Microsoft's UPnP protocol.



Skip commands (via gamepad, OSD, and web interface) work when streaming over an SMB share.
